AI Dungeon Run | Building an MVP: My Insurance Manager
Spent one afternoon building an insurance policy manager with Replit — no technical background needed. Here's what I learned.
This week I spent an afternoon (into the evening) building a little insurance manager app with Replit — something that lets you track and manage your own insurance policies.
Replit is genuinely impressive. Even with zero technical background, you can describe what you want and get a working product out of it. If you want to try it, here’s my referral link: https://replit.com/refer/ijuforever
This was my prompt:
Please create a brand new insurance policy management system with the following complete features:
And it just… built it.
Of course there was a lot of fine-tuning, lots of things to adjust. But the world has gotten genuinely strange in the best way.
Current features:
- Manually enter policy details
- Calculate annual premiums and check whether policies are still active
Things I hope to add after this MVP:
- A basic insurance database so users can look things up easily (tried this today, it’s harder than it looks 😭)
- A login system
If you want to play around with it, feel free to ask me for the link — I really need feedback. 😄
A few other thoughts:
- Getting a product built isn’t hard. Making it commercially viable is another story. I’m doing competitive analysis now and constantly asking myself: what can I actually win at?
- I got stuck three times trying to fix something in Replit, ran to Gemini to debug it, spent forever on it, nearly gave up and started over — then switched to Claude and it worked on the first try. Claude is genuinely excellent at coding.
- Replit annual subscription is $20/month with $25 in credits, but I burned through it fast. Now I’m paying extra. 😭
Still — genuinely fun. Wouldn’t trade it.
