Hana is mortified that Zen caught her sleeping and immediately insists she wasn’t slacking off. Zen just takes it in stride — he ruffles her hair, puts a finger to his lips, and says:
Don’t worry. I’ll pretend I didn’t see anything.
To make up for the lost time, Hana decides she’s not leaving until she finishes what she was working on. Zen decides to stay and help.
As they work together, Hana wonders how there seems to be less work than she expected, given that Rika’s been out for a while. Zen figures Jaehee must have quietly handled some of it in the background — Hana feels terrible about that, and it fires her up even more.
Back at Rika’s apartment, Hana collapses onto the bed. The place that once felt unfamiliar is starting to feel a little more like home. Then her phone buzzes — it’s Yoosung and 707 chatting in the group. 707 casually mentions he’s been looking into Hana’s background…
That hits Hana hard. Does this mean she still hasn’t really been accepted into the RFA? She drifts off thinking about Rika and the others — and in her dream, she wishes Rika would reach out a hand and invite her to be friends…
She’s jolted awake by her ringtone. It’s 707 calling. He immediately launches into a bit where he’s pretending to be a telecom company doing a background check, which Hana does not find funny at all. She demands to know what he’s found out about her.
707 drops the act and explains he’s not actually investigating her — he’s trying to figure out who gave her the phone in the first place.
Hana is still annoyed, so she asks how much he actually knows. 707 jokes: oh, you know, just stuff like your spelling bee scores in elementary school…
Then Hana turns it around on him: sure, she looks suspicious, but 707 is literally the only person who has never shown his face and knows where Rika lives. That’s pretty sus too.
707 laughs and says he’s just a mysterious kind of guy~ — then explains that he only visited Rika’s place to install a wireless router, and honestly doesn’t even remember exactly where it was. Hana decides to let it go.
To celebrate patching things up, 707 says he wants to share a secret with her. He sends over a photo of a gorgeous blonde woman in a white dress and a big hat, shooting a coy look at the camera.
Hana: Who’s this? That’s definitely not Rika…
707: It’s me!
Hana: !!! I’m so sorry, I assumed you were a guy this whole time…
707: I am.
Hana: …… (furious)
Another workday. Yoosung shows up first thing and immediately apologizes for not being able to help last time — Hana remembers it was because of his Seasonal Classes, but Yoosung quickly changes the subject. Hana tries to send him home, insisting that students need to focus on their studies and keep their grades up. But Yoosung absolutely refuses to leave.
They’re both too stubborn to back down, and after going back and forth for way too long, they both end up passed out on the office sofa.
Hana finally admits she’s been worried about being a burden to everyone — after all, she appeared out of nowhere and just stepped into Rika’s spot, which is pretty suspicious no matter how you look at it.
Before she can finish the thought, Yoosung jumps in: what 707 said last night wasn’t about actually suspecting her, and his own choice to skip class and come help has nothing to do with her.
Yoosung: I’m not a kid. Whatever consequences come from my choices are mine to deal with — not yours. The reason I’ve been struggling with school… it’s because of Rika.
Hana: …I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to treat you like a kid.
Yoosung: Thanks to you, this is the first time I’ve felt happy since Rika passed away…
Hana is completely stunned. Rika passed away?! She doesn’t interrupt, and Yoosung continues:
She’s been gone for a year, but I still haven’t been able to move on.
Hana’s mind is racing. Could Yoosung be talking about a different Rika? Because the woman she met on the street — that was only a few weeks ago…
