Invitation of Mystic Messenger Episode 12
In the previous episode, V came online and confirmed that the party preparations are officially underway, and we also got a few glimpses into 707’s backstory.
It turns out V wants to introduce his industry friend Rui — and speaking of V, a little background: he’s a photographer, quite well known in professional circles. The reason RFA parties have been so successful isn’t because Rika is some brilliant event planner, but because so many people want to connect with V.
Before logging off, Zen keeps feeling like the name “Rui” is oddly familiar, but he just can’t figure out why.

The next day, Hana chats with Jaehee, who says, “Oh, the Rui I know is Zen’s F.M.”
Out of nowhere — Hana can’t help but ask curiously, “What’s that?”
Jaehee suddenly turns red and tries to compose herself: “F.M. stands for Fanpage Manager — usually refers to people who post high-quality photos or videos of celebrities.” Though she’s not sure if this Rui is the same person as V’s friend. “If it is, I want to tell him how much I love his photos!”
Maybe seeing how excited Jaehee got about it (?), Hana asks her, “When did you start liking Zen?”
Jaehee: WHAT?! (face absolutely scarlet)
Hana keeps asking when she became a fan of Zen, and whether she’d been into musicals before (Jaehee: Oh, that’s what you meant…)
Turns out Jaehee watches a lot of musicals, but no actor had ever captivated her like this before. She was first swept away by Zen’s acting — and then when she actually noticed how good-looking he was, it completely floored her (a rare moment of Jaehee being utterly shook XD).
Jaehee: His acting was so good I never even noticed how handsome he was!!!
After Jaehee’s enthusiastic recommendation, Hana asks if she can come watch one of Zen’s performances together. He’s not in anything right now, but Jaehee is happy to lend her the old DVDs.

Evening falls. Hana’s just leaving work when she suddenly gets a call — it’s Zen. The second she picks up, Zen says playfully, “Aw, you don’t seem very happy to hear from me?” and Hana completely fumbles.
Zen laughs. “Just kidding. Done with work? Can you spare me a few minutes? Turn around.”
She turns, and there’s Zen in the distance, waving at her. He hands her a coffee, and Hana quickly says, “I’ll treat you next time.”
“I’d actually prefer a beer, but we don’t have time for a proper drink today — this is just a Quick Date. Let’s find a better day for that?”
Hana knows the word “date” was just tossed out casually, but it still makes her heart skip a beat a little. She quickly pulls herself together: “Did you have something you wanted to tell me?”
Zen looks almost startled: “I was totally trying to make a move and it didn’t work!!!”
Turns out Zen came to apologize to Hana in person (see Episode 10). “I already apologized over messages, but I still wanted to do it face to face. I was really not reading the room back then.”
Hana smiles and says, “I’m over it. I think it’s really great that you can own up to your mistakes.”
Being complimented when he expected to grovel — Zen’s a little thrown off…
Hana, you’re really…too nice for your own good.
