Free, Conditional-Logic Wedding RSVP Forms with Great Design — JotForm

When it comes to wedding RSVPs, most couples default to Google Form, Surveycake, or Surveymonkey. Today I want to introduce JotForm — a form tool that’s free, looks great, and supports conditional page-skip logic. It’s genuinely perfect for wedding RSVPs!

First, let’s talk about inviting people to your wedding…

Whether you’re the one getting married or a guest who’s been invited, you can probably imagine how many moving parts go into pulling off a wedding. After conquering the Big Three — venue, makeup artist, and photographer — the next challenge is inviting your guests.

Inviting people is genuinely an art form. Close friends and family you’re already in touch with? Easy. But what about people you haven’t seen in years — do you invite them? How do you even bring it up? Plenty of people find this so stressful that they just post the form on Facebook and tell everyone to fill it out themselves.

Here’s the thing though — based on friends’ experiences, while that approach is wonderfully low-effort, it comes with some surprisingly alarming downsides:

So let me share what worked for me — it ended up being a pretty pleasant experience overall. The key mindset: stay chill. Of course it’d be great if everyone could come, but if they can’t make it for whatever reason, there’s no need to let it get awkward. Here’s what I did:

I messaged each person individually through social media (Facebook Messenger or LINE) with something like:

Hey, long time no see! I’m getting married! (plus something personal to that person) Our wedding will be on [date] at [venue] — I’d love to share this happy moment with you! Do you think you’ll be free around that time?

This approach gets all the important details out in one shot so they know what they’re dealing with. Adding a personal touch shows genuine care. And most importantly — I’m asking if they’re free, not if they want to come. That way, if they’d rather not attend, it’s easier for them to gracefully bow out with “I might not be available” rather than having to say “I’d rather not come,” which lowers the pressure for everyone.

If they said they were free, I’d send over the form. If they said they were busy but added well-wishes or an explanation, I’d plan to catch up with them over a meal instead. :)

To avoid the awkwardness of inviting people I barely know, I kept to a clear list of:

Some people had given wedding gifts in the past, but if we’d only exchanged pleasantries in a group chat and never really connected again, I didn’t bother them.

Because of this approach, my wedding might not have reached everyone — but every guest who came genuinely felt my sincerity. I personally customized every single pre-wedding inquiry message and every digital invitation. XD With a smaller guest list, that was totally doable.

Once I’d confirmed someone was available (and interested), I’d send them the online form (for teachers and mentors, I’d ask in person, of course).

Making a wedding RSVP form with JotForm

I’d been using online forms for a while, but when it came time to find the right one for my wedding, I spent a long time searching. My requirements were simple:

Google Forms is convenient but I can’t stand the interface. Surveycake looks nice but the free version doesn’t support skip logic. Surveymonkey requires a paid plan for branching too.

After a long search, I landed on JotForm — it checked all my boxes. XD

Here’s our sample form so you can see it in action — play around with question two to see the page-skip logic in action~

(Please don’t hit Submit though, or I’ll end up with a pile of responses orz)

It’s also really simple to use. When responses come in, you can export them as a spreadsheet from the dashboard, and each response gets emailed to you in real time — so you’ll never miss one.

I just think it looks so nice, and I wanted to share it with everyone. :D
