Mystic Messenger RFA VIP Package & 707 Cushion Unboxing
This is an unboxing of the Mystic Messenger (see also: game intro and Another Story walkthrough) RFA VIP Package and 707 cushion. If you want to buy from Cheritz, check out this guide. Originally written in 2016, some info has been updated but things may still be out of date — with the Taiwan server shutting down, this is here as a reference for international version fans who want to order.
My Experience Buying from Cheritz
In How to Buy Mystic Messenger Merch from Cheritz, I walked through how to order from the Cheritz store. I’ve placed two or three orders at this point, and honestly it’s not complicated at all.
Today I want to share my very first haul: the RFA VIP Package and the 707 cushion. The quality is so good I just had to tell someone >///<
I’ll flag any spoilers clearly — this is mostly spoiler-free. (Except for one image of Yoosung’s original character concept art, which isn’t a plot spoiler but I’ll give you a WARNING before it anyway XD)
Here are the treasures that made it all the way to my door:
707 Cushion Unboxing
The front features artwork from one of the in-game update screens — super cool! The back is adorable too.
The cushion comes with an insert, so you can hug it right out of the box (important feature).
But wait — there’s more.
There was a “FOR YOU” letter tucked into the package, and when I opened it I absolutely screamed!!!
It was a first-class ticket from 707 to me >///// <
And the back was just as amazing >///// <
You can really feel the little touches of love Cheritz puts into everything. Absolutely sweet!
The cushion also came with a Halloween mini coin purse as a gift — I got Jumin the cat dad!!! I eventually swapped it for the cute Yoosung one though XD
RFA VIP Package Unboxing
Remember those flyers from the beginning? Let’s take a closer look at these gems XD
Flyer One
This one is hilarious — it’s an introduction card for all five members. Yoosung’s nearly killed me XDDD Poor guy is the only one not censored T__T
Flyer Two
Wait, is this okay?? XD I got evangelized by Mint Eye XD
Flyer Three
This one is absolutely unhinged!!! But honestly if it’s possible please take me too T__T (I think this came with the 707 cushion? Not 100% sure.)
The RFA VIP Package Itself
The VIP Package includes both physical items and in-game bonuses.
Full details are on the official store page. Let me go through the digital bonuses first!
- Phone cards for all characters ($25 value)
- All save slots unlocked (12 total)
- 1,000 Hourglasses ($26 value)
- VIP-exclusive ringtones (not sold separately)
Honestly, the phone cards were the only thing that drew me in at first (even though I’d already bought them separately, RIP). But then I discovered the VIP ringtones and they’re absolutely incredible!!!
The incoming call ringtone has 707 counting down, and Jumin searching for Elly. The notification sound has Jumin meowing!!!!!!!!! (It sounds gloriously reluctant XDDD)
I’ve already set it as my actual phone ringtone XD
Now for the physical goodies. The box isn’t huge, but everything inside is quality and thoughtfully made.
Opening it up. Everyone’s greetings are written inside — all in English too!
The packaging is gorgeous — I was so careful opening it XDDD
And the first thing I see when I open it is a message from 707 — I was grinning so hard XDDD
Business cards for every character plus your own name tag XD
The name tag has the activation code for your VIP perks on the back. The business cards are beautifully made!
This is V’s card — it’s so elegant! Clear design with V’s signature green. Stunning!
Jumin’s card — his name in Chinese characters is 韓主旻. The back reads: “Lost time is never found again.”
Zen’s card is stunning too!!!
707’s card is very on-brand XD Can you decode it? XDDD (Answer here)
Next up is the Original Sound Track CD — 20 tracks total.
Basically everything you hear in the game is on here! (I had it on repeat the whole time I was writing my thesis XD)
This is the Talk Party disc — the voice actors chatting together, haha. I haven’t actually listened to it yet.
Since it’s all in Korean, there’s also a thick booklet with a translation included :P
And this is the Guide Book. It includes:
- R.F.A. organizational rules
- Character relationship chart
- Individual character profiles (including V)
- 10 Questions, 10 Answers (answered by all characters XD):
- How often do you log into the messenger?
- What do you want to do with someone you like?
- What do you do in your free time?
- If you accidentally ended up in a love triangle, how would you handle it?
- What are your hobbies or habits?
- What’s your ideal type?
- If you could have another job, what would it be?
- Where would you go on a first date?
- What gift would you give on a date?
- Which part of someone do you notice or care about?
- What other characters say about each person
- R.F.A. Heart to Heart discussion topics:
- Who has the best fashion sense?
- Who is most popular with the opposite sex?
- If you switched genders, who would you date or marry?
- R.F.A. power ranking discussion
- Who would you trust or turn to if you were lost?
- What animal would you compare each member to?

For example, this is 707 fantasizing about marrying Elly XDD There are tons of cute little stories and Q&As inside.

Yoosung: 222333444
Zen: God… if we ever do this again, I need to go before Jumin. So I’m describing Jaehee? Hmm… one of those black and white dogs… the kind that herds sheep…
Yoosung: Border collie?
Zen: Yes! That’s it! You really know your dogs. It’s one of the smartest breeds. She works so hard for the company and she’s incredibly smart. It totally fits Jaehee.
Jaehee: That’s very kind. I’ve never said this, but I think you’re like a white tiger, Zen. For Luciel, I’ve always compared you to a chameleon. Wherever you go, you disappear and hide.
707: I’m genuinely moved that you see me that way…
Jaehee: I didn’t put much thought into it.
707: lolol Jaehee, you never lie T_T lolol Okay my turn!!! Yoosung is a hamster! He’s small and works really hard. I picture him like a little hamster spinning in a wheel. And he’s nocturnal — just like how he stays up all night playing LOLOL!
Yoosung: I mean, I still wake up early for class! But hamsters are cute, so I’ll take it, hehe lol
Yoosung: For Jumin — I don’t know if it’s because he’s basically a cat mom, but I think he’s like a cat. He gets along just fine on his own and never really gets lonely.
Jaehee: I agree. Except he’s a cat that enjoys making others suffer.
V: It seems like everyone here knows each other very well.
